Children’s Events
Each month, there are several Children’s Events going on at Wesley to help educate and bring our children closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. Here’s what’s coming up for kids at Wesley!
Here are some of the children’s events that take place at Wesley throughout the year.
- Easter Celebration–Children celebrate Christ’s resurrection by playing games, making Easter crafts, and enjoying time with their friends. They also participate in small groups in an Easter Egg Hunt.
- Vacation Bible School–This fun filled, interactive, week long program in July helps teach our children about the love of Jesus and encourages them to apply the principles they learn to their daily lives.
- Splashy Saturdays–On Saturdays in August, we bring out our inflatable water slide to promote fun and Christian fellowship.
- Fall Festival–Take pleasure in a crisp fall day and enjoy games, crafts, and a moon bounce at our annual Fall Festival.
- Wednesday Night Suppers–During the fall and winter, Wednesday nights at Wesley are alive with the sounds of children, youth, and adults. Wednesday Night Supper is an opportunity for families to enjoy a time of fellowship and a homemade meal.
- Wednesday Night Bible Study for 3rd-6th Graders–Children enjoy hanging out with their friends while engaged in Bible study on the evenings we have Wednesday Night Supper.
- Children’s Nativity Pageant–Children participate in one of the most cherished Christian traditions of re-enacting the story of the birth of Christ.
- Christmas Party with Santa–Come enjoy dinner and holiday cheer while children wait eagerly to see and talk with Santa. Activities are provided that help children see the Christ child in Christmas.
Vacation Bible School
We look forward to a week full of music, laughter, and spiritual growth at Pandamania Vacation Bible School Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15 from 9:00-12:00. All classes are full, but we have started a waiting list. See our VBS page for information.
Worship News:
Children’s bulletins are available at both services. Children can color Bible scenes, look up scripture readings, and work puzzles that relate to the readings of the day. The best use of these bulletins however, is as a discussion starter at home. Ask an usher for one and try it this week!
Children’s Library:
Check out our new books in the children’s library! Older children might enjoy My Life as a Broken Bungee Cord by Bill Meyers. It has ten exciting chapters about a boy who deals with one calamity after another and finally learns to put his trust in God. We have several new books for parents too. Good and Angry-Exchanging Frustration for Character…in You and Your Kids! by Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller is a great resource for parents to check out.
