Music

The music ministry plays an important part in worship. We sing to the Lord in praise and adoration, accompanied either by a rich pipe organ, the piano, bells, guitars and/or other instruments. At Wesley UMC the music ministry comprises:

  • The Wesley Choir presents an offertory anthem and leads the hymn singing each Sunday at the 11:00 Traditional Family Worship service. The Wesley Choir rehearses in the sanctuary each Thursday night starting at 7:30 except during the summer months.
  • The Children’s Choir introduces children to worship through music and focuses on using music and song as a fun medium to learn more about God and to enrich our walk with Christ. The Children’s Choir meets during Children’s Church and Choir time, which starts after the Children’s message in the sanctuary at the 8:45am Family Worship service each Sunday from September to June, and at the 10:00am Combined Worship service each Sunday during the summer schedule.
  • A Praise Group that leads the singing at the 8:45am Family Worship service. The singers are normally accompanied by the piano and guitars although sometimes augmented by the organ or an accordion. The Praise Group rehearses on Wednesday evenings.

We are blessed to have this ministry to enhance our worship experience. If you are interested in being a part of Wesley’s music ministry, please talk to our Choir Director or Organist about how you can get involved.
