Children’s Choir

Music is a gift from above that can touch our souls in such a unique way. Through music, our hearts are opened to worship and communing with the Lord personally, meaningfully, and deeply. With joyful noises, we bless others and ourselves by lifting spirits and reinforcing Jesus’ message of love, hope, and faith. At the Children’s Choir at Wesley United Methodist Church, we introduce children to the gift of worshipping our God and learning more about our Lord through music in a kid-friendly atmosphere. Lessons about our faith walk are interwoven into our singing of songs and playing of games with music. Accompanied by the guitar, we sing children-appropriate songs of both a traditional and contemporary genre. Appropriately every six weeks, when the children are ready, we share our songs by singing for the congregation at the worship services.

We welcome all children from pre-school through sixth grade to join the Children’s Choir, and middle school youth are welcomed also as singer helpers and facilitators. Children start out with their families in the sanctuary at the beginning of the service, listen to the Children’s message at the service, and then proceed with the Children’s Choir director or designated adult downstairs to the choir room. At the conclusion of Children’s Church and Choir time, children will be brought to their Sunday School classrooms. In this way, parents may enjoy an uninterrupted worship service while the children have a kid-friendly worship experience.

Parents are welcomed to join a rotation to help at Children’s Church and Choir time, or to drop by any Sunday to see and experience our time together. Often, the children bring a friend, neighbor, schoolmate, or visiting relative. Come, praise our Lord, share, make music, sing fun songs, play a game, and have a cookie! We can’t wait to see you!
