Cub Scouts Pack 152
Wesley received a copy of the Recharter for Cub Pack 152 at the recent Blue and Gold Banquet held in our Fellowship Hall. Dan Press from the District Scout organization indicated that Wesley has sponsored Cub Pack 152 for 59 years. Last year we chartered 24 cub scouts. This year our Cub Pack consists of 40 Cub Scouts. That is exciting news.
Pack 152 has been busy participating in Scouting Expo, Popcorn sales, light airplane flights, and collecting food for the needy. Now they are preparing for summer camp.
Cadette Girl Scout Troop 6310
Troop 6310 meets at Wesley every other Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. It is composed of 14 7th grade girls from Kilmer, Thoreau, and Luther Jackson Middle Schools. Most of the girls have been in Girl Scouts since they were in kindergarten. Some of the service projects completed by the Cadettes this year include:
- Sewn pillows for breast cancer patients
- Cleaned saddles for the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Association
- Collected food for the food pantry at Food for Others
- Delivered food baskets to senior residents at Tysons Towers
- Assisted with Girl Scout Day at the Air and Space Museum.
Some of the girls are currently working on their Silver Award, the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn.
Brownie Scout Troop 4390
Troop 4390 meets at Wesley on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. This year we have twelve girls from grades 1-3 at Vienna Elementary, an increase from eight last year.
